The older you get the more you realize what is important, who is important and that time waits for no one. 

Fragility of Life

The past month has taught me that life is extremely fragile. In an instant, people that you cherish or take for granted can be gone with the blink of an eye. Be sure to a  moment to glance up from your phones, tablets and all of the buzzing pressing issue to enjoy your life and the ones you love. Make living life a priority because you never know when it will end.

Looks

If someone is more focused on your appearance; you with the wrong person. Beauty will fade. If the person does not have the essentials of a good heart and willingness to love you at all costs; you are wasting your time.

The More Things Change

I never understood the saying "the more things change; the more things stay the same" when I was younger. Now I know all too well what the saying means. The older you become and the more experiences you have; the more life and people will test you. People will disappoint you but also show you their true colors.

Over the past year I have learned the following lessons from my battles:

1. Protect yourself, protect your heart and always follow your instincts.
2. Learn that some people cannot change.
3. Some people are who they are and will refuse to change until they are moved to do so.
4. Do not waste your time on things and people that are not worthy of you.

Trying Times

Being a parent and a working mother is always a balance between time and money. You will never have enough money but you will never be able to get time back. 

Character

You can learn a lot about a man based on how he speaks to his mother, mother of his child(children) and strangers. A persons character is revealed when they think no one is watching or listening.

Drowning

Before you reach your hand out to help someone that is proverbially drowning you should wonder if they are going to pull you under with them. Pull you under with their problems, agenda or ego.
